Introduction

The 400 series was the last of the “wedge” shape cars produced by TVR with production running from the late eighties to the early nineties.

They offered up a compelling recipe of a big engine in a lightweight chassis with a daring appearance and an amazing soundtrack. That recipe is as appealing today as it was then.

What we have here is very special indeed. It has been enjoyed by just 1 owner (the V5 registration document shows the owners wife initially then into his name) and has covered just 22,200 miles with 11 recorded services to date the last of which was in February 2014 at a cost of £2,000 for a full re-commissioning service after being in dry storage. 

We are told it has never had any cosmetic paint repair and therefore represents a truly original example. It has clearly been very well looked after by its 1 owner and is backed up by a solid service history.

Included in the comprehensive service history is the original purchase invoice detailing the options to include Half Hide Trim, Wilton Carpet and Wooden Steering Wheel and Gear Knob. No modifications have been carried out on the car.

Although it arrived with us on its original tyres, we have put on a new set purely for safety reasons. We have of course kept the originals should the new owner require them.

A rare opportunity indeed.

Condition

External – We are informed that the paintwork is original. The overall condition for the cars age is extremely good and it really does show how well it’s been cared for over the last 24 years. As you’d expect, in addition to the usual aging of the paintwork, there are some front end stone chips. 

Roof – In very nice order.  

Wheels – In nice order with no kerbing to note.

Interior – Has been kept in clean condition as with the rest of the car.

Overall, a very nicely presented original car clearly looked after through the years.
