1973 / L BMW 3.0 CSL

The European Touring Car Championship of the early 1970's encouraged performance manufacturers to build some rare and exciting homologation specials, notably Ford with Escort and Capri derivatives and BMW with their CSL.
Standing for 'Coupe Sport Leicht', the car was indeed light - having an aluminium bonnet, boot and doors combined with a reduced trim saving a valuable 300lbs in excess weight. With power as standard from the 3.0 straight six giving 206 bhp and a strong 'Batmobile' aero package (front chin spoiler and rear boot lid lip spoiler), the 1039 CSL's produced by BMW are now highly collectable and sought after, particularly rare original right hand drive factory produced cars.
Our car offered here is a one Exeter owner from new bright red, right hand drive UK car, with a superb history, and in totally original spec, colour and trim. We have undertaken the restoration and re-paint locally ourselves in order to best preserve the originality of this rare beast. It will be ready early Spring for inspection and photographed for this website when complete.
First to see will buy........
It will be priced realistically for an early sale, following a very lengthy, but very thorough mechanical and body restoration.
