1988 / E356 WOK Porsche 911 Carrera Club Sport - SOLD

When the 1988 model year 911 was launched in September 1987, Porsche also introduced a lightweight high performance version aimed at the firm's hard core customers.

No doubt inspired by the legendary 2.7 RS of 1972 this new Coupe-only car was the first to adopt Porsche's nowrevered Club Sport designation.
The CS was a stripped out version of the 3.2, made some 100kg lighter than most by stripping out
non-essentials like the rear seats, sound deadening, electric windows, and even the passenger's sun visor.

The engine revs more freely, and 300rpm higher, thanks to lightweight inlet valves and a reprogrammed
ECU. Just 340 examples were made, and only 53 of those were in right-hand-drive for the UK market. Available in the UK in any colour you like, as long as what you like is Grand Prix White with red wheel
centres!

Unsurprisingly with more power and 38kg less weight to lug around theClub Sport instantly became the quickest normally aspirated 911 available with 0-60mph requiring a mere 5.1 seconds whilst top speed
rose to 156mph. Transmission featured revised 4th and 5th gear ratios and a limited slip differential, Bilstein sports suspension was specified and Fuchs alloy wheels, 7 front and 8 rear.

This particular car is in totally exceptional condition throughout and has recently been part of a very significant private UK collection. Covering just 67,000 miles from new the car benefits from a very comprehensive service history, with full factory recommended services performed by both main dealer and well known marque specialists. (infact the car has just had a full service in September 2011)

It represents today both a fantastic investment opportunity and a chance to drive something really pure and thrilling. Not to be missed....
