Only 52 original C-Type Jaguars were ever manufactured between 1951-1953. Their legendary reputation was cemented by three Le Mans victories in 1951, 1953 and 1955. The Proteus C Type is a professionally engineered, low volume sports car that takes the evocative shape, sound and appearance of Jaguar’s world beating C-Type and combines it with excellent handling, high performance and reliability to match a modern car. This left hand drive aluminium bodied Proteus C-Type was ordered as a retirement gift by its previous owner in 2007 for rallies and touring. Technical work and paint was carried out by XK Engineering with engine and drivetrain assembly by Guy Broad. Built as a 1953 model with an air scoop on the bonnet, this Proteus boasts a brand new 4.2 litre Jaguar engine that has covered a mere 10,000 kilometres. The previous owner reports that the car has only been used in Summer months, and has been stored in a warm and dry dehumidified garage and has been serviced and maintained over the last four years by Mototechnique Ltd.   

This car is registered as a Jaguar Historic vehicle with the registration date 09/06/1954 and therefore qualifys for Historic road tax.
