1965 / C MORRIS MINI COOPER MK1 FHP 163C. - SOLD

The Mini Cooper was a collaboration between the designer Alec
Issigonis and engineer/racer John Cooper, who had driven a mini prototype
to the 1959 Italian Gran Prix and realised the cars potential. The link
was to create a story that would run and run.
The standard Mini would be enhanced with twin SU
carburetters, revised cylinder head, improved exhaust, close ratio gearbox
with remote change and a higher final drive. A different grille, two-tone
upholstery and paintwork and a 100mph speedo distinguished the Cooper
from standard.

Originally supplied by Parkside of Coventry this low
ownership, 56,000 mile Mini Cooper epitomises originality, mechanically no
different or disappointing to the day supplied. All the panels are
original, carrying correct tags to the drivers floor pan, the slam panel
and of course engine and chassis.

Finished in Tweed Grey/Old English White,  its complete with period
extra`s, heated rear window, wash wipe, Benelite Grille, mirrors and
steering wheel. The original owners hand book and green logbook are
present.

This Mini Cooper is acknowledged by register experts as one of the
most original examples available today. With an obvious patina of nearly
50years of un-restored existence any restoration attempt would require serious
contemplation. One for the Mini conoisseur.
