1963 / 268 UNN Ford Lotus Cortina Mk1 - SOLD

Any Lotus Cortina can truly be called a car that started a 'motorsport revolution' for the Ford Motor Company during the early sixties.
The combined talents of Walter Hayes with his vision of 'Total Performance', Colin Chapman's chassis design skills and the mechanical  brilliance of Harry Mundy, went on to deliver a British Saloon Car Championship for Jim Clark in 1964 - within a year of the car's homologation in 1963.

This particular car has been the subject of a very exacting restoration to an extremely high standard.
It retains the period correct original 'A'-frame rear suspension and the restorer has produced near perfect body gaps and shut lines.
It is the nicest Lotus Cortina we have ever offered for sale of the 8 or so cars we have sold to date.
This matching numbers car was originally supplied and registered in Nottinghamshire and is a very early example of the model.
It presents and drives absolutely superbly and is a really outstanding long term investment opportunity.
