Nick Whale

'I have had the privilege and pleasure of combining my sport and my passion together with my business life to bring you the selection of prestige cars that we offer today.

For many years I have been the owner of businesses fortunate enough to supply some of the most special cars in the world.

I also enjoy the priveleges of being a full member of the British Racing Drivers Club, the proud owners of Silverstone, as well as being a main board director of the Motor Sports Association which is the governing body for all Motor Sport in Great Britain.

I have personally raced and rallied for the last 30 years and am currently participating in both modern and historic sports car racing in England and Europe when the opportunity arises.'

I was a car enthusiast long before moving into this industry and owned an eclectic mix of cars from Porsche and BMW to Lotus and TVR.

In 2005 I left behind 18 years in the finance sector (including 3 years working for Tom Walkinshaw) and formed Driving Adventures, a company specialising in sports car tours of Europe and Northern America and still enjoy the pleasure of running this company today with destinations regularly visited including the French Riviera, Swiss Alps and California.

Subsequently, I formed Castello Cars, a business specialising in the sale of sports and prestige vehicles. From day one the focus was on sourcing prime stock which was then marketed with highest level of detail, clarity and honesty. It was through this rapidly expanding business that I met Nick and Mark and it soon became apparent that our ideals were very much in line so it was clearly a matter of time before we took the natural step to merge the two businesses....and as they say, the rest is history.

 

Mark Hickman - Modern Car Consultant

'20 years in the industry, starting with the family business together with being a motor racing enthusiast, has kept my feet firmly on the pedals.

Previously, in addition to working with Nick at Nick Whale Sports Cars in Bromsgrove, I was Dealer Principal at Ferrari and Maserati, Birmingham and have main dealer experience with Aston Martin, BMW and Mercedes.

I'm an ex Hill Climb driver but realised when the young guys were quicker and slicker it was time to give up!

In my Ferrari days, I was a member of Club Fiorano the Ferrari Racing Club providing some of the most enjoyable times of my life.

Cars are in my blood, it's a passion, a hobby and a great business to be in.'

 

 

Lionel Abbott - Classic Car Consultant

Motorsport has been a major part of my life from Touring cars to three UK saloon car championships and three Wilhire 24 hour victories. This culminated in 8 years as a works driver for Saab UK backed by Mobil oil company.

Therefore, a progression towards historic cars has become almost a natural evolution. The friendship with Nick was formed on the UK race circuits racing in the 80’s. This association shares a similar ethos, to now procure cars for discerning buyers with a simple remit “Cars we would be proud to own and drive ourselves”.
